What is the Respondus LockDown Browser and Monitor?
The LockDown Browser is a custom browser that prevents students from accessing other browser windows, applications, copy/paste, printing and other features while a test is in progress.
Respondus Monitor is an option within the LockDown Browser that will use the student's webcam to record the test taking session. An automated process detects suspicious behavior during a test session. Video segments with potential exam violations are flagged for the instructor, with an overall risk level assigned to the exam session. Instructors are able to review the video recordings of the tests sessions.
The LockDown Browser requires students to have access to a computer that they can install the browser on.
Software (Operating System) Requirements:
The LockDown Browser can now be installed on Chromebooks and works just as it does for Windows and Mac users. |
