Microsoft software and server licenses are available to the university community through various contractual agreements with Microsoft and other vendors.
Microsoft Office Suite
The Microsoft Office suite includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, OneDrive, and others.
University-Owned Computers
The Microsoft Office desktop suite of applications is free for university computers. Please contact your department's IT support staff or assistance.
Eligible Students, Faculty, and Staff
Eligible individuals who are currently active at the university are entitled to free Microsoft Office desktop and web apps through W-Exchange. See Microsoft Office Overview
Retirees, Family Members, and employees not entitled to free Office.
The Microsoft Office Home Use Discount is available for WMU affiliates to receive a significant price reduction on the Microsoft Office desktop suite.
Collaboration Software
The W-Exchange (Microsoft 365) system provides collaboration software for the university community including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and others.
