You may be asked to forward an email as an attachment to a recipient to ensure all email data is retained for troubleshooting purposes. Please see below for instructions based on your specific email platform.
Outlook on the web
- Compose a new message (or reply)
- Drag the email you would like to forward from your message list to the body section of your new message. You will then see the message as an attachment on your new message
- Please note, if you are in 'Conversation' view, all messages within the conversation will be attached. If you only want a specific message to be attached, expand the conversation and select the individual email you would like to attach
- You may now send the message to your desired recipient
Outlook for Windows
- Select the email message that you would like to forward
- Near the Forward button in the ribbon, click More and choose Forward as Attachment
- You may now send the message to your desired recipient
Outlook for macOS
- Right-click on the email message you would like to forward
- Choose Forward As Attachment
- You may now send the message to your desired recipient
